Have a similar situation in our corn. Would say that somewhere around 20% of the plants have blunt ear syndrome. Symptoms appear to be caused by silk balling.
Scouted field with company rep and you could actually see a clump/ball of silks inside the ear husk. They indicated that some hybrid families can exhibit these symptoms under abnormal (whatever that is) growing conditions.
