ghost rider, yes, each pressurizer oil section has a filter. The biggest one is for the backhoe function, think that one is under the machine in center on the return side from the valves. The converter may share the oil system with the reverser, follow the lines under machine or along the side of motor or up front, just can't remember. Main transmission oil system may be shared with reverser, again not sure. The reverser is separate from the transmission, but connected by short drive shaft. (check UJoints), hell if they go bad. Then the finals have a low pressure system internally and has to be filtered somehow, follow lines from cooler.
We purchased the 310D from Buck and Knobby Temperance, Mich. At one time was one of the biggest Deere Industrial Dealer, Deere Company had. They are on the Web, look them up. Their service department was the best to work with a long time ago. The original owners are gone now and things have changed some. Mother Deere was forcing them to due what Deere Company wanted, big new buildings, handle only Deere equipment and there was a falling out with Deere. They still sell Deere industrial, but not the volume they did in the late 70's. They now are a Yanmar or Volvo dealer in a big way. They are big in leasing, rental, rental purchase business. Everything we purchased from them was a rental purchase contract. They sold Hyndia (spelled wrong) excavators in the 90's, we demo's a 15Ton size for a month, too small for sewer work, then got a 20ton size, better balanced and better reach, good machine.
Give them a call, ask for parts , see if the current parts boys can help you on filters. We bought and still have service manuals on that machine, big help.
The 310D at the company I worked for was run mostly by one operator for the hoe work, I was the grunt in the trench, later promoted to top man. I used it more for loader work, back filling sewers with stone, loading trucks. Was the best machine they ever owned. Check it out, any question, email or post.
