Do what SWCIL said, Take 55 up to Route 48 (2nd exit past Litchfield), then 48 into Decatur. 2 hour drive. Actually quicker than going to Springfield and you will see more crops up close.

Pretty rough stuff down by St. Louis, for the most part it gets better the farther North you go. Slow down when you get off onto 48 and look around, within 2 miles you will see some of the worst and some of the best right together.

On the right is one of the later fields of corn planted, not even close to polinating. Off on the right about 2 miles off 55 is a neat field of Twin row corn that looks really really good, was planted with a Monosem (sp). Not sure who it is but I would like to know what it makes!
