Subject: RE: Another opinion. continued

Little River, TX
I assumed the soils there are not deep enough to allow field leveling, or that hollows are too pronounced to allow for field leveling. Field leveling is an established practice in much of the Irrigated West.
That is something I have not indulged in. I do cut drains into a low area and use the dirt from the cut to partially fill the low areas.
I am not able to irrigate but probably would do more if irrigation was an option HERE.

I would not bet the farm on the possibility of reseeding alfalfa in thin areas or also selecting varieties for aph resistance but it is a thought. Ground freezing is not a factor HERE. The ground freezing in wet spots destroying the alfalfa plants just may be a coincidence rather than a cause and it may be worthwhile to try some alfalfa with a HR rating for PRR & R or better for aph.

Again I appologise for mis spelled words but I am still out on the road and right now using a cousin's lap top.

Today I hope to ge traveling again today for Louisiana.
