There may be an effect we see in out high CEC soils. The NH3 in the NH4 form will tie to the clay and or organic matter and stay in place longer.
The 28 being Urea and Ammonium Nitrate, the nitrate can leach off or be used quicker, Resulting in less available N at a later date.
