Not just production ag. In terms of the economy and nations and central banks everyone is just a chess piece.
With a stroke of keyboard those trillions of stimulus enter the economy. They electronically produce numbers on a screen that represent little pieces of green paper that can motivate human beings to do literally anything. This is needed because while we prepare for this plague we are not doing our most basic and essential purpose: contributing to GDP. And as long as the little green paper is the most trusted piece of paper in the world, it matters not how many are created.
Thats not quite right, the Fed is injecting liquidity through creation of debt. The fed cannot print money, only the treasury can do that. That’s why the dollar remains so strong, there’s not nearly enough actual greenbacks to go around to satisfy those wishing to convert their debt instruments into actual cash. That’s what’s really going on.
