Subject: RE: Farming Alone

SC WI
A couple things I do is:

Bigger equipment(CCS planter holds more seed plants longer, bigger sprayer tank, spray 10 gal/acre) my goal is to plant/spray/ fertilize 100 acres without refilling.

Stationing equipment ahead of time(have a 6500 gallon semi tanker, park it in a central location and refill)

Have spare parts and tools with you.

Use Coops/seed dealers/landlords for help. Co-Op delivers fertilizer/seed on sight with a tender, just coordinate and be able to offload tender completely. I have driven tractor to Co-Op to get fertilizer or chemicals.

My next tractor WILL have a 31mph road speed.

As far as leaving something in the field and needing a ride; I have walked.... lol, used a pedal bike(can hang anywhere), currently have a moped project but it’s heavy to lift.

ETA: AUTOSTEER, believe it or not, I can run more hours because I am less fatigued throughout the day.
