Subject: RE: Farming Alone

South Central MN
I've worked for a canning company for years, and during sweet corn harvest the pickups would get towed behind the lead pickers dump cart.
With the older vehicles and 2wd ones they were shifted into neutral but left the engine run.
The newer ones are able to be towed engine off transfer case in neutral. A lot better than filling up the air filter with dust while being pulled down the road.
If you are going on a long trip or have a weak battery in the vehicle you might want to rig up another set of flashers powered by whatever is doing the pulling, but mounted on the pickup or whatever it is.

Not uncommon to put on some serious road miles with the outfit I work for, transmission troubles were rare and usually caused by something else.

I have seen people leave the parking brake on by mistake, that doesn't end well.
