South Central MN | Just to prove the point, your chart makes it look like we are doing worse than Italy. If you look at percentages, we are doing slightly better. This chart was zeroed out on the day that each country reached 1000 infections. China's rate is very low due to the massive population. That's not trying to take away from the thousands of people sick in China, but it also shows that they have done a better job controlling the virus (questions of data accuracy aside) than the US or Italy, and currently the US is doing a better job than Italy. I'm no statistician, but I can't help but feel this is a better representation of the virus' progress through a country than total infected cases.
