Sounds good guys. Thanks for the input.

House is on geothermal and generator/solar backup so we should be pretty weather proof. I can't imagine a fluke weather scenario it may come in handy as we still won't have coal to burn anyway.

That side of the house needs a new window anyway. We'll just make it one large renovation with some help and I can assist as needed on the demo. Hopefully I can find a good contractor that knows what he's doing as these old farmhouses are just different beasts than normal framed houses.
