western iowa,by Denison | Few years back-lot on my mind-had 120 head contracted-to a packer-forgot all about them-get a call-Gary we need those cattle delivered this week? End of the month-told the packer-WHAT? Gary? Yes-um-I don't have them-Gary? Yes-You don't have them?I don't know-can I call you back, can you talk to your boss?
I had sold cattle and forgot about the cattle across the road-that I had left in 2 barns as things were coming and going really fast that month- a mental block on that morning-Packer calls after Dinner-I told him I redid my count and everything was ok-meanwhile he had called his boss and they really did not know what to do. I guess the only thing worse then a fat cattle price that isn't very good is selling cattle that you don't have. | |
