Subject: RE: Filters - Fleetguard vs Napa vs Baldwin vs OEM vs Others

"Here",

Fleetguard does not carry crosses for as many as other brands, and the local supplier we used to get them from had minimum orders for specific filter numbers.

OEM are good and we use some where we can't cross them to the brand we mainly use.

NAPA are 2x as expensive as Baldwins

We use Baldwins for most of our filter needs of about 240 different filter numbers. They're most cost effective and they cross to most numbers.

I am finding that the newer equipment won't cross for several years, so I am forced to stock other brands, and it just makes things complicated.

Baldwin - 90% of all our stock.

Fleetguard - I must stock 2 because of lack of a cross of one of them.

OEM for some of the Hydraulic filters on the Challenger, also the Sisu fuel filters.

OEM for most of the Claas, except the engine.

Cat for fuel filters for the Cat engines because they have the opaque fuel sediment bowl we like, Baldwin doesn't have them the same way.

Quality wise, we haven't had problems with any really. I just check and re check crosses to confirm media and micron sizes. A lot of filters have 2 or 3 other numbers that can work in a similar application, it saves me a few odd numbers to stock.
