| That article is so full of BS it’s unbelievable. Here’s the real story: a guy who failed as a farmer and engineer has a beef with big business because they wouldn’t sell his pipe dream of an engine. He now sells chips and tunes for a living and thinks it should be Deere’s obligation to provide him with FREE access to code that will change the way an engine operates in order to increase horsepower and bypass emissions controls, so that HE can charge people to do this instead of Deere. How noble!
The fact of the matter is that every single person on this forum can have the same diagnostic software as any dealer, it’s just not free. And Deere will not provide anyone - customer or dealer - access to rewrite the software on a machine because it increases their liability in terms of warranty risk and emissions violation penalties. Anyone who says differently is either misinformed or a liar. | |
