Aberdeen MS | what i'm going to do this year mark, and it will work better and easier because of the strip tilling.
I leave the headlands to strip and plant after the field is planted. Because you follow the strips with the planter....as long as you get the right ones together... you can start anywhere in the field.
It works out with the fields I have to reach the 20% by making 3 passes completely around the field. On my 1/2 mile fields....I always split it into 2 40's. I have approaches at that point in all fields to get in and out with the truck... can make full rounds with the combine that way.. one man show ya know.
I'll plant the fields to traited varieties, finish all the fields....come back strip the headlands, then make the full trips around and down the middles. | |
