| had same issue with my 4020. put my vacuum gage on the intake wired it to the hood and ran the tractor. gage indicated timing was not being advanced completely. weights had some junk and springs were not the best. cleaned up weights springs napa had a set of three different sets used the middle tension set. do not use oil on the weights dry lube best keeps dust out of them
one other tip time ignition with vacuum gage. set to highest vacuum you can get at fast idle. new gas does not have the pop the old leaded gas does | |
