The condensor is probably your problem. When it warms up and starts shorting out it cuts in and out making backfires till it shorts out all the way and the engine dies. When you get a new condensor get two of them because modern condensors are junk. Best bet is with Napa echelon ignition parts. A shorting out coil can act the same way but try the condensor first.
