Subject: RE: JD 3020 problem

NW Ohio,near Findlay
Only other things to check, lift pump, and maybe throw a timing light on dist, see if timing is correct on high RPM's . Have a friend that has a 3020 gas with a loader, only does mowing and log work in woods. Runs perfect, why I don't know, but a good tractor.

Edit text after your last post: I do not know what the problem it now only guessing. Backfiring thru carb sure sounds like intake valve problems, valve hanging up, cam worn, valve guides, broken spring. But why only above the 2000 rmp's? Air cleaner OK, pull tube off at carb and run it hard, see if it does it. Rubber hoses get funny at carb, maybe pulling it at high rpm's.
