Subject: RE: Grain pit

West-Central IL
Ours is around 80' . It has a 40 hp 3phase motor. We are on single phase here so it (and several other motors in the setup) are run with a vfd.

As another stated it may be halfway to the cost of a pit. But that's still only half.
Concrete costs would be much less than a full basement pit. We dug and poured ourselves and if you can borrow a few 4' wall forms for the box the rest is just flat work for the approach.
To be honest I wasn't concerned with pit costs, we just decided after looking at site and all possible grain dump options that we really didn't want a deep pit buried in the ground.
There are many variations out there so don't think yourself or your site into a corner!
