Subject: RE: Good topic , I don't understand it.

It is ok Ernie... there are several people in the thread who do not understand the topic very well. I read through most and maybe I missed it... but I didn't see anybody from out in the western cornbelt where rootworm have been a pest problem for over 40 years questioning the validity of a refuge requirement for the corn rootworm bt event. Out here where we have dealt with rootworms forever... there is a great 'respect' for their unbelieveable ability to adapt to most any method used to control them. They have adapted over the years to resist different chemistries and crop rotations. They will adapt to the rootworm bt event.

Is it inconvenient to have to plant refuge for CRW corn? Very, but there was valid worry/thought process put into the adoption of the refuge requirements. Abuse of the rules will potentially just help this most adaptable of corn pests speed up there march towards resistance. JMO
