Melancthon, Ontario
We have 2.The biggest things to check are the pivot points and gudgeon bearing, as well as the axle free play. Roof condition, as the original plastic will have started to crack if it spent any time in the sun. Hydraulic line around the pivot area, electrical grounds need to be taken off and cleaned up. They usually puke a head gasket around 5000 hours. The tortion dampener between the motor and transmission is said to fail between 7 and 8000 hours. We pull a 44' Case tigermate and it will walk it along at 7 - 8 mph. Not a fuel pincher, when its worked hard it uses fuel hard. Air conditioning is better than nothing but i wouldn't want to drive one in Texas. Also would be nervous of one that had a blade on it, they were built to be tractors not bull dozers.
edit: after reading other posts, guys talk about overheating, CLEAN YOUR RADS GUYS... and not just blow it out... flush flush flush,,,,, I work the living snot out of one of ours on a 30' 1890 drill and tow behind cart with a roller behind that, plant at 8mph, not flat ground and more than a few wet holes. Engine temp stays right where it should.
