I'll be the odd guy, we bought a 9220 and it was a pooch, not sure it would outpull our 8400 by much. 9220 has 12.5l in it but I would guess it's very similar hp wise to the 9230. Couple things guys are forgetting: 9220 is 325 engine up, 8400 is 250 (ours is anyway) PTO hp, so likely a good 275 or better eng hp. The 9220 is 10k lbs heavier, which is good for traction, but takes a decent amount of hp just to lug the weight around.
