Made the same move you're talking about 9 yrs. ago! 9230 is heavier even without any weights and has much more traction then the 8400. Handles a 11 shank chisel plow and 33 ft. field cult. between 5.5 and 6 mph nicely on flat ground. A nice tractor that seems to have as much power as our 9360R (I blame the extra emissions on the 9360R). You won't be disappointed, a nice upgrade from the 8400 for a tillage tractor. Also plays with a 1100 bu. grain cart.
In wet years we use it to pull 35 ton loaded beet trucks thru the fields with a Safty-Pull hitch. Trucks are left in neutral and just follow it around.
