Subject: Missouri does a different dance

Callao, Missouri
Martin-

Missouri does things different for both pH and liming requirements.

First, pH is given in salt pH, not water pH. So my 5.1 salt pH is most peoples 5.6 water pH. I don't have a clue why they do it that way.

Liming requirements are given in Effective Neutralizing Material, rather than Calcium Carbonate Equivelance, or Effective Liming Material.....I think most states use CCE or ELM instead of ENM. Lime in my area is about 440-460 ENM, so I would apply 3 ton per the test that I put up.

I am going to try to post a map of some of the ground. The red outlines the border, the tan colored ground is the converted pasture that I have been farming. The other ground is the CRP. The link to the online map is:
http://ims.missouri.edu/maproom/missouri/viewer.htm?JS=layerparam65...

The link brings up the entire county. I'm not sure how to get it down to my farms.
