SESD | Im assuming you are using an older diesel here, otherwise I would not recommend using trans fluid. Ok now that is my disclaimer for this post, now I have known a few people who have run it, one being a tech I worked with. He would empty the flush machines into a oil drum and let it sit in the corner for a little while. Then he would filter it through two filters, first I think was a 10 micron, then second was a 2 micron. He would run up to 50/50 mix in the summer but backed off a ways in the winter. To all of the nay sayers, trans fluid actually has a flash point pretty similar to diesel but the burn rate is a bit slower. Ultra low sulfer diesel just doesnt lube mechanical injection systems as well as they should be, and many off the shelf additives are just plain junk.
Now another alternative, and I dont know if its available where you are, but B5 cleans and lubes a fuel system fairly well too, and you can use it with most DPF systems. | |
