Iowa | I bought the program when I got my last computer (previously it came with the computers in a package deal), but that was almost three years ago. The things I do on Excel are important to me. I've tried some of the other spreadsheets, and not everything was the same. I don't trust turning everything I have over to another platform, especially if it is cloud based. I also don't like the idea of having to continue buying a subscription to keep access to software that is important to me. I want to own it. Even owning it is not what it used to be. I liked it when you could just physically buy it on a disk, but now you are only buying access to download it to your computer. I also bought it for my wife's computer so I can use it if mine goes down.
The data is backed up usb sticks daily, physically offsite periodically, and on paper periodically. That paper may be old fashioned, but unlike the floppy disks from 35 years ago, I can still read the paper.
