I have a horning 3 row version. Our corn is planted in 20 inch rows and you can get 5 rows in it if the tractor tire is touching the leaves on the first row. I agree that down corn doesn't feed well. I never noticed the uneven wear on the knives/shearbar but i only chopped maybe 400 acres total with it in 5 years. 3 years were too wet and we had to hire it done with larger equipment.
