NE Nebraska | We got a phone call from one of those non-government entities saying we didn’t file properly and were non compliant and facing penalties. I knew I’d filed and dismissed the call. Then they sent an email saying we were non compliant because I didn’t file in the proper month (last two digits of DOT # dictate which month and year it’s due). Their call and email was a scare tactic. The real legitimate letter came in April and I filed in April but ours wasn’t due till June. I called DOT to verify and they said as long as we filed before the deadline we were ok—it didn’t have to be that specific month | |
