Clinton, ON | I have a 5 meter 2 point hitch Rubin 9 with the double roller on the back. At 3.5" depth or shallower, you can usually do up to 10 MPH. If you want to run deeper you have to run slower. At 5.5" deep, I was doing 5 MPH. Also at shallow depths, the soil has to be pretty dry. Make sure that the front gang is running the same depth as the rear, or ever so slightly shallower. The rebound tines are for breaking up the soil and should be set so it does not clog the unit. Also the flat disks on the sides can be set so it doesn't create too much of a ridge between passes. There is a bit of trial and error with these machines, but are capable of doing a very nice job. On mine I will be changing the disks soon, I have just about no notch left on the front disks. | |
