Disclaimer. I only know this because I was asked to weld some cast and it would crack right after I stopped, regardless of heat.
There is 2 kinds of cast. Malleable and ductile??? Whichever one I had didnt work with nickel rod.
Seemed like half the stuff that neighbors asked me to weld were cast.
