Freeburg, IL | The only thing different about these plane pics than any others is that we kinda thought we might see some F16s. This corn is about 7 miles from Scott Air Force Base and ususally you can't find a pilot to spray in St. Clair County. Disease pressure wasn't bad yet, but with lots of moisture, now some good heat (around 90 +/-) and foggy mornings, the decision was made to spray this corn. There was Wyffels 8361, DK 61-69 and DK 63-42 that got sprayed. There would have been some better candidate fields & hybrids, but they were either in the "no fly zone" or had a combination of high tension lines and trees. GLS is really coming heavy on the April and May planted corn locally. It is a great year to see what hybrids stand up to GLS!
