Caledon, Ontario | Wondering if people are making their own calf starter. We milk 180 cows and raise all bull and heifer calves. Our 18% pellet calf starter just went up to $750/t and I am looking to cut some costs without cutting performance. We have whole corn and feed corn distillers with canola meal to the cows. Not sure if I could get away without a pellet since calves don't like fines. Any ideas? | |
