Western Oregon | A few years ago when hay was worth lots of money, I had a field that was miles off the main highway, pretty far back in the hills.
Annoying Austrian wanted my hay and so did another Big Time Hay Guy. (BTHG)
So I made a deal with these two fellows who didn't know each other. I made two stacks with hay to their liking in each stack. I think I may have even painted their names on their stacks.
I told them they could get the hay any day and time but Sunday morning.
So I'm sitting in Church and I'm day daydreaming a bit and I look out the window at my other hay field. I see a hay truck loaded and heading out of the field.
I had turned my phone off and forgot about it all till Monday.
I had several messages.
Annoying guy had send the baler guy (same baler guy as featured in previous post) up Gopher Valley to get hay from me. At the same time BTHG had decided I needed to move that hay out of Gopher Valley so he got there early with two trucks and hauled it all out.
So annoying guy had to pay baler guy for his squeeze and truck driving around the middle of nowhere with no cell reception looking for a hay stack that had been moved.
So I had to make BTHG bring back the extra load.
Otherwise I just laughed at them both.
Said, I told you not to come after it Sunday morning!
So perhaps there is more to this whole straw story than meets the eye... | |
