SE ND | On an older pre dpf machine that is a good scenario. Unfortunately, the new machines with emissions (especially a diesel particulate filter) need to be ran around 1800 rpm on average to build consistent heat for adequate passive regens.
But yes, I do agree with you that I would prefer to run a tractor at 1600 rpm, 80% engine load versus 1800-2000 rpm 110% engine load all day. However, money talks and when an individual can try sneaking by and saving $40,000 to buy the smaller frame/motor it makes this decision that much more difficult for the original poster. | |
