Is run at reduced rpm at roughly the same power output. (per Nebraska tractor test lab). In general, I like to run an engine that is rated at the lower end of it's power range rather than at its highest rating, let alone boosting it even higher.
I can't comment on the longevity of the two engines as we haven't run the 13.5L beyond 2500hrs.
