Sounds great.

But why isn’t PowerMax $8 all the time? It would seem to be a way to have slowed down resistance for the past 25-years, keeping it priced such that no one used lower chemical rates. Or why didn’t Syngenta use 10-15 years of Callisto revenue to research their next technology?

Could it be that some other markup on other chemicals or seed is offsetting this rebate? Or is it just a way the economists have calculated to maximize their sales in a competitive market?

It’s a global market, so asking the US farmer to pay premium freight for the next technology and then selling that technology outside of NA without fees is getting old.

The market is working, and we all see there are consequences of that on all sides.

From what I can see on Bayer rebates on the wholesale market the price of PowerMax has jumped a couple bucks a gallon in recent years, and even at wholesale prices on the other branded chems genetics are still ahead a few bucks/acre, it just cuts the savings using generics down to a little less.

The one thing about being a price taker instead of a market maker is that all you can do is act rationally. The market maker has the power and sets the agenda/consequences of said agenda.
