Subject: Ammo reloading equipment?

Geuda Springs, Kansas
Good Evening guys, one of my new years resolutions was to start practicing with my pistols more. With three young kids and two different business it has been a struggle to stay with the sport the past 6 or 7 years. I have been thinking about getting into reloading my own shells. Man I am really confused on what to purchase for a press. Was looking at hornady or Dillon progressive presses, but am somewhat confused on what extra attachments are needed. Also, it looks like I would need a shell cleaner and maybe a scale? I have ran some numbers and if I am correct it seems like it will take a lot of boxes of ammo to even get the equipment paid for. For you guys that reload, why are you doing it? Are you saving money, getting better quality ammo, maybe just enjoy it? Is there possibly a reloading book you can recommend? I am guessing 20 to 30 years ago some of this equipment didn't cost near as much as it did today. Thanks
