Subject: Hydraulic flow control valve ?

I have a HCI - Prince C-503 valve that was laying on the shelf, not certain of its previous purpose. I want to use it to control a hydraulic motor on a spinner for a dry fertilizer spreader. Is it appropriate for that application. If so, how do I plumb it? I would be using a JD 8000 tractor if that matters.

Edited to add that the nipple fitting in the upper right is brazed shut
