I had a half thoroughbred/half quarter horse that I rode in show jumping horse shows in the 80's. He was 30 years old and arthritic, but if you gave him a shot of Bute on one side, and a shot of Banamine on the other, that old guy felt no pain and would jump anything you aimed him at. I cleared a 7 ft tall Puissance brick wall one time on him when he was tanked up.
