Subject: RE: Large Scale Alfalfa Seeding

south central WI
We do 230-300 acres a year with a 13' drill. Roughly 60 acres a day, so 4-5 days or so. We have a 15' cultimulcher that we narrowed to 13', and have a hitch on the back to pull the drill. We direct seed any thing flat, and broadcast the hilly areas with wheat or oats before working it. Then we spray the grasses when the alfalfa emerges enough to prevent washing. We plant all RR alfalfa.
