NESD
When the clutch pedal is depressed transmission will downshift to match the speed while the tractor is still rolling, once stopped it will always start out in 1st gear. Kind of a pain when trying to pull onto the hiway and having to go thru all the gears to get up to transport speed.

This is from the Operators Manual

Shifting On-the-Go- Power Shift

Move gear selector lever toward the upshift position (A) and release, to upshift while in forward. Transmission will sequentially upshift (rapid shift) from second through twelfth gear in approximately 5 seconds, if the gear selector lever is held toward the upshift position. Upshifting will stop when lever is released.

IMPORTANT:
The "rapid shift" function is for non-loaded tractor applications, such as crossing roads.

Move gear selector lever toward the downshift position and release, to downshift while in forward. Transmission will sequentially downshift (rapid shift) until first gear is reached, if the gear selector lever is held toward the downshift position. Downshifting will stop when lever is released.

Lever shifting can be avoided by depressing clutch pedal when downshifting (entering a turn into a lane). Re-engage clutch pedal when tractor has slowed to desired speed. Transmission will be in new gear that maintains the new speed. This function will not occur with TA, T6 or T7 flashing codes. Transmission will shift to NEUTRAL position.

Procedure 3 can be followed for upshifting in forward gears only when tractor is on a downgrade.

NOTE:
Gear shown in display will change as tractor slows or speeds up, when clutch is depressed.

Engine speed should be held within 200 rpm of rated rpm, for optimum shift quality.
