Delaware County, IN | Thanks, this really helps! We actually ran a Capello 8 row demo on 30 acres this fall. I didn't notice any feeding issues or trash piling up, but as you said, there was no carrier bearing. I was very pleased with the Capello when we ran it, head loss was drastically less than our Agco head. We ran both heads in the same field, and based on kernel counts I feel that we can save 2-3 bushel in head loss alone. I would imagine that having Calmer deck plates would really help the Agco head.
Another area farmer has a S96 and runs a Drago Series 2 head on it and loves it. It's an 8 row. I went and ran his combine for a couple hours to see what I thought of the head. I noticed no feeding problems and they said that they have had no problems at all with their head. I realize that a Series 2 and GT are somewhat different though. | |
