Jim in Sask - 12/13/2019 08:11 Originally we had Avadex and Avadex BW, only one I seen used much was the BW. We didn't have it branded as Fargo, maybe Chrysler Canada had rights to the name for their Fargo trucks they sold up here.

Its true Jim. The only Fargo we saw here was the trucks. Got a 53 ton in my brother's yard.  I applied a lot of liquid avadex (BW) in spring post seeding but pre emergent. It was the main reason I got the harrow drawbar with the Blumhardt spray attachment. We had another granular herbicide called Fortress about the same time. I am not sure but it might have also controlled green foxtail along with wild oats. I could look it up if I get around to it. Too cold to do much outside today.

As I remember, straight Avadex was dialate which was recommended for flax, it was a little hard on wheat and barley. Triallate (Avadex BW) was better for cereals. Fortress is a combination of Avadex BW and Treflan. I never used it but did use Avadex BW post seeding. Always hated messing around spraying same time as seeding, I wasn't set up for granular. I mostly used Mataven for wild oats, had real good luck with it.
