Yep, the saga of Fargo and Avadex. The product originally was called Avadex BW and when it came out in (I think) the early 70's it was one of the very first pre plant incorporated chemicals and the company did a terrible job of telling people how it needed to be properly worked into the ground. Because Avadex BW had a terrible reputation in the US for not working, the company renamed it Fargo, acted like it was a different chemical formulation than Avadex BW and did a good job of educating people on proper application and incorporation. I had an agronomy profession at NDSU who said every once in a while he'd talk to someone who happy about how much better Fargo was than Avadex BW, not realizing it was the same formulation. For some reason it was only called Avadex in Canada, never used the BW designation. |
