| Just my opinion but I feel we are barking up the wrong tree if we REALLY want EFFECIENT,AFFORDABLE health care. There seems to be too many other businesses sucking off the real services we get from the actual care givers. Paper work, records, seperate billing, malpractice insurance, negotiations with insurance co. over charges/test/treatments, etc. etc.
Had a emergency room visit earlier this spring for an hour & half. Over $4 grand. Buddy had an overnight stay after surgery, over 30,000 for just the hospital---no procedures. I know of others that don't have insurance that get charges reduced, some by as much as 50% or more for some treatments.
About like trying to buy a used car!
