East Central Indiana | The idea of slamming through harvest is great!
But...I can’t imagine handling everything twice.
Bag the corn, then unbag and load into truck. Unload truck into wet bin. Then haul out dry corn. Sounds ruff and costly to handle grain several times.
I’ve also never been around a bagger so maybe it’s not beer as bad as I’m imagining.
We definitely need more bin space and that’s our bottleneck at harvest.
We normally have to transfer corn from dryer location to other bins we have spread across other farms. That’s handling it twice and is very inefficient. So I would think hard about bagging and then drying later.
Eventually we will have enough storage at our new grain site. But it’s a process that will have to be done over several years. | |
