39.48, -82.98 | In the issue that I mentioned above, if you set your guidance path to due north in the Deere system, your last pass in the field would also point due north. Due to Earth's curvature, that means the guess rows get narrower on the north end of your fields. With the AL system, all passes are parallel. By the end of your field, you would be pointed slightly off due north. Unless you are at high latitude, with a very long N-S field, you probably wouldn't see 30 inches error in a field. But you would see some, as the width of a degree of longitude diminishes. | |
