“Deere 612C

This is the only head that I have heard from multiple owners that it's not leaving a pile of fluff in front of the feederhouse.“

We run a 612c on a 7240. We harvested a lot of lodged, tangled, extremely dry corn this year.....yes it will create a pile of mog right in front of the feeder house. This was the first year we’ve ever fought it this much. I don’t think it was specific to the red/green setup, our custom crew runs 616c’s w/ green combines & they were fighting it as well. They bolted little plastic rectangles to their gathering chain ears, seemed to help but I think a sweep/reel would be the only permanent cure.

Saw a macdon corn head for the first time....frame looked really light/fragile, dunno if that’s the case?

Thanks for the review.....ran green combines starting with a 77/8820 on through the S series. Take some kind of a drastic change for us to ever go back after our experience w/ the 30/40 series case flagship. By no means are they perfect but they are incredibly simple & easier to set for us.
