Subject: RE: 5x5 vs 5x6 balers

WY, OK
Really no reason to get a 5x5 new. I just bought a 15 year old clean 5x5 for $1500 to use as a backup if my 5x6 goes down at a bad time. Same baler, if it was 5x6, would have cost 3-5x that. I'm not quite sure why the big 3 or 4 just don't go exclusively with 5x6 and 4x6 balers. Buy them and make whatever size you want. I know, I know the hp requirements not everyone has a 85+hp tractor, but I find it hard to believe they sell that many 5x5 or 4x5, or god forbid a 4x4, balers to make the R&D and manufacturing worth it. Leave those to 1 or 2 companies to corner the market on.
