Subject: RE: Debt and deflation

What does one do about it in a practical sense?, well if you believe as I do, that we are on the same path as the japanese were 15 years ago, then the best thing to do is pay off debt or at least reduce debt to equity to manageable levels, and that means that if deflation and stagnation are long term outcomes for the US economy along the lines of the Japanese, insuring adequate free or unencumbred cash flows becomes vital over the long term not only to stay afloat but also to grow and thrive, because in deflationary times with credit restricted or cut off only free cash flows or "savings" can be used to expand, or survive.

John, I am sure you remember the the " Ag meltdown" of the early '80's and the turmoil it created in the Ag sector and how long Ag remained in a very weak state for years, working off the excesses incured during the "go-go" years of the '70's, my belief is the general economy is in the midst of it's own "meltdown" and we in Ag who survived the "ag meltdown" know what to do.
