It all depends on the bale density. We had 4x6 barley straw bales weigh in an average of 1350. The straw wasn't real thick so it went in to bales in real thin layers making them very tight and dense.
Just had bought wheat straw last spring and they were 5'8''-5'10''x5' and they weighed 1450.
This is weighing a few different bales on the TMR mixer.
